This game is incredible, sometimes I wonder if reviewers even play these games 🤣
Gotta say i like the protagonist the least among all the characters
Also Sparks of hope just looks better, it’s story isn’t nearly as compelling though
I agree with saying it should be rated higher than SoH
I adore the every one of the FE games, and I’m sure I’ll end up liking it
Biggest problem i had was the fact they made an excuse to add the divine pulse back in
the story is really bad but the gameplay 10 out of 10 and i am on team romance that is why i can understand it
The story isn't terrible, it's just... underwhelming. I mean, FE3H was far from perfect, but the story is really what gets me going. FE Engage carried me through the game only with the gameplay, and I gotta say, even if the story is not to my liking, in my opinion it's the best FE I played to date.
The characters though... I love them, Veyle is the best btw.
Bro stop the shilling jezus christ!! Story and Chars are GARBAGE!! writing is childish and extremely cringy!! the only great thing is the gameplay!
Colgate Protagonist
For certain groups of people, Rabbids is a better SRPG. In fact, for most of the 9 billion humans on the planet, Rabbids is probably a better SRPG. Yes, for us genre enthusiasts, Engage is much better, and we are not representative of all gamers or all reviewers.
That's basically the beat with "professional" game reviewers and journalists. They are not us. They do it for a paycheck.
To make it clear I am not a 3 Houses fanboy. I liked the characters for the most part, but some routes felt very unresolved/underdeveloped and the recruiting pre-timeskip made some characters feel awkward post time skip, if you played through it multiple times.
However I don't get where people are coming from praising Engage from a character or story standpoint. It legits feels like a bad Light Novel that you came across in a store with one of those flashy covers that you then read their for a couple of chapters only to put it back on the pile, cause it's just generic, bland and you feel like you have seen the same story being told a million times before and most times in a better way.
Which is probably my overall impression. It's a generic story, with boring characters told in a poor way.
Personally fire emblem engage is painfully slow, unfinished and boring to say the least. The story pace is fast with new characters being introduced in almost every chapter whilst not being fully functional characters comparable to seat fillers. The story was said to be dimmed down as to shine light on the battle mechanics which was done successfully but sacrificed, story, cutscene graphics, dialogue, and so much more. Fire emblem engage is a half-baked game trying to cover every flaw with boring battles.
Facts man, Engage is a better gameplay experience than 3H
This game was great until chapter 10. The game was so great they HAD to ruin it somehow. Nothing but unfinished builds you cant correct, more characters and less deployment slots. All the rings u used to build ur chars that u CLEARLY arent finished (dont try to farm skillpoints, you’ll never have enough) they take all of the rings you acquired, dont give em back til the end of the game, and give you rings that completely conflict with the builds you were trying to make.
The story isnt as bad as people say the chars all sounds like your typical anime characters and this is a typical storyline.
The problem is chapter 10 n they dont wanna say what it is.
The game is about emblem rings that you use to build your chars. You lose them ALL after chapter 10 leaving you with unfinished builds for the rest of the game. And the plot hole that they used to pull off the worst plot twist in gaming/storytelling HISTORY makes you literally not even want to finish the match before escaping.
Literally lost every ounce of will to play having all of MY RINGS stolen by MY OWN TIME CRYSTAL wtf?
Avoid this garbage at all costs it deserves all the low ratings it got, JUST for that bullshit after chapter 10
So this is not a good game for newcomers?
my most disliked thing about this game is that it's easy to forgot the supports
I don't get why slander another game to make your point. Like are you stupid? People like more Mario and Rabbids. God forgive them for having a different opinion from yours. It gets annoying. Mario and Rabbid has way more charm my guy and looks way better. But you dont se people slandering on it and comparing it .
I still probably wont get this game anytime soon. There are other games are more excited for me including other games on my wishlist. If i find it for sale or used maybe ill get it much earlier. But its probably going to stay on wishlist for while.
First fire emblem game I replay just after finishing it in a higher difficulty. Perfect FE experience for me. I can finally forget that bitter taste 3 houses left in my mouth and enjoy FE again.
This FE is a blast. Cant understand the bombing, I wasnt confident at first but the tactical approach, emblems mechanics and crazy map design are on point. Maddening player here, best FE experience I got since Conquest.
Did someone seriously just say "there is DEPTH in the story"?
This is one of the most generic lazy and surface level stories for kids 5-8 years old. In comparison to three houses (which wasn't perfect either) it feels just like DLC or Addon.
"Those journos must have played on Normal" - if your game uncovers only in Hard mode, it means your gamedesign skills suck A LOT.
