📍As the blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaijan enters its 39th day, the gas supply has been partially restored, after Azerbaijan cut off the supply for the third time since the blockade began. 📍The Investigative Committee of Armenia also published some of its findings with regards to the cause of the fire. As Azerbaijan’s blockade enters its 38th day, 19 teeangers, who were in Armenia and separated from their families for more than a month due to the blockade, were returned home to Nagorno-Karabakh via the Lachin corridor. According to Gegham Stepanyan, the Human Rights Ombudsman of Nagorno-Karabakh, 10-15 Azerbaijanis in civilian clothes and with their faces covered, approached the bus and then entered the vehicle. The men filmed the visibly shooken teeangers, used profanities and, according to Stepanyan, caused one of the teenage Karabakh Armenians to faint. As Azerbaijan’s blockade of the only road connecting Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh stretches beyond its 50th day, schools in the region are being forced to close their doors to about 20,000 students. Breadlines too have been forming in Stepanakert. Due to the lack of power, bakeries cannot keep up with demand, and once a fresh batch is ready, residents are quick to buy whatever’s available. Chaos is once again brewing over Nagorno-Karabakh, a small, landlocked region between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This area, comprised chiefly of Armenian Christians, has been disputed for decades. But experts are sounding the alarm, as the typical chaos plaguing the area has recently escalated. Azerbaijani residents reportedly blocked the Lachin corridor Dec. 12, the only land passage into Nagorno-Karabakh, cutting off food, medical supplies, and travel between the area and Armenia. That blockade is now approaching its second week, with desperation increasing. The situation is so dire a group of human rights organizations issued a genocide warning Monday, cautioning how deadly and diabolical the situation could become. The blockade only adds to the alarm. It's a crisis Ruben Vardanyan, minister of state for Nagorno-Karabakh, is hoping to see remedied as quickly as possible, as his citizens do not have access to travel or much-needed resources. A group of Azerbaijanis wearing civilian clothing began blocking the Goris-Stepanakert highway at around 10:30 this morning, marking the second time this month that the only overland route between Armenia and Karabakh has been closed. As Azerbaijan continues its blockade of Karabakh, numerous families have found themselves separated from one another. The Russian peacekeepers mediated the transfer of 19 teenagers back to their families from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh on January 17. On the road, a group of Azerbaijanis stopped the bus and harassed the youngsters, until peacekeepers intervened. Prior to this incident, one mother spoke to CivilNet about their family’s ordeal. Tens of thousands of people in Artsakh marched to Stepanakert's central square on Sunday in a rally demanding the opening of the Lachin Corridor.
