I actually do like the DualSense capabilities but I dislike the lack of support and especially on PC where games like DeadSpace and Dying Light don't have support despite it being present on the PS5

Honestly I don't really comment but what game did you guys play? I have mayor issues with the story, characters, support conversations and even the skill system of the game. Like how the story is ,for the lack of a better word, dumb or how the characters seems to have no personality because the game don't tell you much about them on their support conversations and also how the skill system is too expensive to have fun with it on the first playthrough of the game.But, i never expected someone to say that the graphics are worse than the previous fire emblem. I don't know if you remember the stage environments or performance (fps) of that game, let alone the castle, but that game clearly inferior to the new one graphics wise.

I loved this game but man it does not even hold a little flame to three houses.

New game + not in Engage (Three Houses has a great NG+)
Epic ending not not in Engage (Three houses had 4 Epic Endings + Warriors)
Meaningful relationships not in Engage
A Black Knight or Death Knight Enemy not in Engage
A good main villain not in Engage
A good way way to help lower lv units lv up faster not in Engage
Gold very stingy in Engage
No character development in Engage (In Three Houses Bernadetta starts out has a shy scared little girl and then at the end she is less shy and more bold.)
No Choices in Engage

What you know what Engage does have that will always make it great Louis and Rosado.

Look, the story and the dialogue suck. No one should argue that. But fire emblem engage is definitely one of the most fun fire emblem games to play, if you like the strategy. I like this one far more than three houses because I can stand to play it more than once. Three houses was fun, but muddied down by too much extra.

If you're on the fence about Engage, don't let this dissuade you. Wood barely finished the tutorial. The story is cringe because it's campy. If you don't take it too seriously it's enjoyable. There is also a ton of replay value. There aren't routes like 3 Houses, but there's more flexibility in which units you choose to use, so you can use different combinations of characters every playthrough.

having a really horrible story is not "going back to old fire emblem" if you would have taken out the slice of life part and had a really good story people wouldn't have had issue, everything outside of combat is pretty.... not great in engage.

The game is really well crafted and one of the best FE games in terms of gameplay. New 3 Houses fans don't like it because a lot of the social aspects were cut back, and the story is a non-factor. The thing is that in order to make a good traditional FE game, you need to make characters expendable and limitations to your options in order to create unique levels. Telling a good story is possible under those conditions, but it is basically impossible to connect the cast to the world like 3 Houses did. FE 3 Houses was made from the ground up to tell a story, even to the point of having access to every character from the start and every single unit being growth based. This freedom was fun but came at the cost of level design and made permadeath more of an accessory than an actual aspect of the game.
Engage is a huge hit with core fans, but most casual fans aren't liking the game because they don't actually like playing strategy games.

This same exact situation occurred with SMT and Persona, where casual Persona fans trashed SMT5 because they had to actually engage with the mechanics of their turn-based RPG instead of just watching a playable TV show. Now, SMT 5 has a lot of problems including the story, but many Persona fans do not have any understanding of what good criticism is and thus said it lacked heart.

As a long time fan of the series, I’d have to say that I enjoy Engage much more than 3 Houses overall. I liked Three Houses but the month between each Chapter mission was way too bloated. This isn’t necessarily apparent on a first play through, but the Monastery really becomes a chore after you’ve beaten at least 1 Route especially since the first half of the game is pretty similar regardless which Route you choose. Also, the main story is broken up too much by the constant stop/go of the month break which is not great since the story is 3 Houses’ strong suit. The game would have benefitted from more multi-part missions allowing you to get larger chunks of the story out of the way before taking a much needed rest at the Monastery. Instead the battles tend to feel more like the needed break from the Monastery. Additionally 3 Houses had a big issue with class balancing. This may not be apparent to a casual player, but a more experienced player would quickly realize that mobility is very important in 3 Houses which makes Wyvern Lords and mounted classes overwhelmingly powerful and infantry classes pretty pointless in comparison. As a result the amount of choice the game gives in class customization is really just an illusion, since someone trying to optimize their builds really only has 2 or 3 classes to choose from, and honestly a team of all the same unit type isn’t that fun. Engage on the other hand encourages variety by nerfing mounted classes and giving class abilities like doubling terrain effects on covert units like thieves and archers or ignoring terrain effects on mystic type mages or being immune to the break effect on armored class. The skill system is a lot less grindy in engage too since skills are linked to rings and not class mastery primarily. Engage is just a much better balanced and designed game compared to 3 Houses. Next time though I’d like a game with Engage’s mechanics and game design and Three Houses’ more intensive and darker story or rather a story like in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn since I do still believe the Tellius saga(Ike and Michaiah’s games) from the game cube and wii era has the best story among the fire emblem games, although I’ve never played Geneology (Sigurd’s game) which I hear is also a top contender for that. Seeing as how a remake of Geneology is likely the next fire emblem game, I’m looking forward to that.

i'd argue microsoft doesn't need exclusives since, in addition to what bob said, gamepass is appealing to a lot of people. way more affordable
